Restless spirits found home in your body, Revelation in your breath, Salvation in bound, The corners of your eyes, Protest in the soles of your feet.

Restless spirits went out walking. Climbed out of your bedroom window, Left their voice box on the nightstand. How long had they been dwelling? How far can they go?

Restless spirits wrung out your bones in the afterwards, So they would not grow mildew beneath your skin. What use is a rotten corpse to restless spirits?

This thing is terminal. Cannot be caged by language. Or a heart beat.

Metaphors mean nothing. Explain nothing. Other than your own inability to feel anything honestly.

You’re bad at this. That is why restless spirits made a home out of your husk. Anyways. At least the soles of your feet will always be able to sing.
